We take fun and interesting ideas and turn them into real-life models, displays or products. Our expertise lies in finding inventive and affordable solutions to practical problems and usually our focus is on education and robustness - the two are usually linked!

In the museum and science-centre world we are known as 'exhibit builders' but this encompasses a huge range of things. To deal with everything that is thrown at us, we have to be specialists in cross-discipline design and manufacturing - we boast a wide range of skills and experience which provides us with the flexibility to work with many materials, technologies and production methods.

Mainly, we design and create items for educational and communicative purposes, from table-top interactives to entire exhibitions but we also use our product-creation skills for commercial work where the challenges are often much the same. Although the bulk of our work is in the UK, we have worked all over the world for a variety of clients such as: visitor attractions, musums, schools, companies, universities, the NHS, charities, marketing agencies, councils, the BBC... OUR FACILITIES

From design through to production, FifeX does a lot at its base in Tayport. Four industrial units give us space for design, digital fabrication, wood & solid surface fabrication, metal fabrication, storage, and assembly. We have an ideal space for prototyping and testing. We welcome visits to see our workshops at any time, as long as there's a bit of time to clear up first!
